Field Erected Corrugated Galvanized Steel Tanks With "NSF" Approved Coating

Potable Domestic Water Supply
Private and public water systems, campgrounds and resorts use NSF approved coated tanks for potable water storage applications.  NSF coated tanks meet all Federal & State standards for storage of safe drinking water.

Fire Protection Reserve Water Storage
Many county and state fire departments recommend our tanks as economical alternatives to bolted or welded water tanks for fire protection storage.

Safety
Most field erected tanks meet seismic safety standards without anchoring, saving the expense of a concrete foundation.  Set on a contained gravel foundation, wide diameters provide resistance to overturning without the need for seismic anchors.  If anchoring is required or requested, American Tank  Co. will provide a foundation design and submittal drawings with a California Civil Engineers wet stamp for building permits or customer approval.

Warranty & Savings Field Erected Corrugated tanks are baked by a 10 year manufacturer`s warranty.  Tanks are engineered, hot dipped mill galvanized and corrugated  steel.  These tanks are extremely cost effective when compared to bolted or welded steel tanks.

Irrigation Water Storage Farms and ranches throughout the west rely ATC tanks to maximize the efficiency of water well production and to control distribution and pumping cycles.

Size  Field erected corrugated  tanks are typically specified   between 20,000 to 150,000 gallon capacities.

Erected on Site Field erected tanks come in  sections and are erected on  site.  This makes the ATC  tank an ideal choice for those hard to reach locations.

NSF
National Sanitation Foundation is an organization that certifies products that contact potable drinking water.  This certification insures that only the absolute safest non toxic materials are used in the interior coating of our tanks.  NSF certification meets or exceeds all Federal and State requirements.

Installation
Corrugated field erected tanks are assembled without the need for heavy equipment or flammable materials.  Corrugated tank components can be trucked in, hand carried or dropped in by helicopter when grading of access roads is not possible or desirable.  Please ask your sales representative for details and costs.

Service
Corrugated galvanized steel tanks have been manufactured in California for over 100 years.  The normal service life is 25-30 years based on historical observations.  With periodic maintenance, ATC tanks can provide 30 to 50 years of qualified service.

CORRUGATED GALVANIZED STEEL TANK
TEN YEAR WARRANTY

All corrugated steel water storage tanks are designed to provide many years of service when properly installed and maintained.  Please review and follow the installation and maintenance guidelines prior to filling tank with water.

Installation

1.        Tank should be located on firm, compacted native soil.
2.        Tank should be carefully set on a level foundation of 3/4" crushed rock, 4-6" deep with            a minimum 1 foot radius from tank wall.  When seismic design considerations require

anchoring to a concrete wall or slab, a layer of 1/2" asphalt impregnated fiberboard,            between tank bottom and cement, is necessary.
3.        Use dialectic couplings on all metal piping connections to tank to prevent possible            electrolysis.
4.        When attaching electric controls or wires to your tank--care should be taken to            prevent cables and control mounting brackets from contacting tank.  Use insulated            brackets and other nonconductive materials.  Do not use metal anode probes for level            control.

Maintenance

1.        Water should be changed with fresh water about every three to six months.  It is            preferable that water be circulated as often as possible.  Use water for irrigation,            cleaning or other uses, then replenish tank supply with fresh water.
2.        If your tank is equipped with an automatic fill shut-off float valve, periodically check            the adjustment of the float arm attached to the float ball to prevent over flow.
3.        If the water supply contains "hard" or corrosive minerals, tank interior may require            periodic cleaning and recoating. Inspect tank interior and exterior coatings            annually, clean and re-coat if needed.  Consult with your local factory representative            for additional recommendations if necessary.  Under normal water conditions, tank            coatings should last the life of the thank (typically 25 years).

To Clean Tank- Wash walls with water and use soft bristle brush to remove rust
and mineral deposits. Rinse with water and dry. Leave the top of the tank off.
To Recoat Tank- Once tank is cleaned and dried, recoat using a large brush.
If it`s a warm day it could take as little as 48 hours to dry. Leave the top of the tank off.

Warranty Statement

  • Manufacturer shall warrant its corrugated galvanized steel water storage tanks against defects in workmanship or materials that cause either leakage for a period of ten (10) years from the original date of installation when properly installed and maintained for use with potable water.  The warranties on equipment or accessories furnished with the tank are limited to the respective manufacturer`s warranties for their products.

  • Requests for service under this warranty shall be made by contacting the manufacturer in writing as soon as possible after the discovery of any alleged defect.

  • Installation of temporary storage facilities if needed, during the course of repairs or replacement, is not included and shall be the responsibility of the user.

  • An extended warranty is available, on a pro ratio basis, for all replacement tanks.  The formula is as follows: A credit of 10% per year remaining on the original tank warranty shall be discounted from the current list price.  The user may use this credit toward the purchase of any like or larger tank.

  • This warranty does not apply to any tank that has been subjected to negligence, alteration, vandalism, civil disturbances, or acts of God.  Manufacturer does not authorize other persons to extend any warranty with respect to its products, nor assume any liability for unauthorized warranties.

  • This warranty supersedes any warranty not dated or bearing an earlier date.

  • Expressly excluded from this warranty are defects caused by electrolytic or bacterial conditions, misuse, abuse, or improper installation, application, employment, or operation of the tank. Damage caused by unauthorized repair is not covered by this warranty.

  • No liability for consequential damages will be accepted.  Manufacturer will not assume responsibility for contingent liability for alleged failure of its products.

RE:
NSF Corrugated Galvanized Steel Water Reservoirs

Corrugated Steel Tanks will provide years of flawless service.  Our corrugated galvanized storage tanks offer tremendous advantages over the options for water storage.

The options available to store water in large capacities are limited.  They are either welded or bolted steel tanks.  Welded tanks are typically "butt" welded that rely on a single weld bead for structural integrity.  Certifying the structural quality and penetration of the weld is not economically feasible for this type of tank construction.  Bolted steel tanks rely on rubber gasket joints that may require periodic servicing for leakage.

Installation
Corrugated field erected tanks are assembled without the need for heavy equipment or potentially dangerous welding construction.  Corrugated tank components can be trucked in; hand carried or even dropped in by helicopter.  Expert experienced craftsmen who insure the highest possible construction integrity fabricate the tanks.

Construction
Corrugated steel has nine (9) times the tensile strength of flat steel and is superior in resistance to compressive loads.  Corrugated steel is especially resistant to the buckling and "mushrooming" that can affect flat metal tanks during an earthquake.  Corrugated tank seams are overlapped and hand-riveted with solid steel urethane polymer coated rivets forming a double thickness of steel that further enhances the lateral and vertical strength of the tank.

Service
Corrugated galvanized steel tanks have been manufactured in California for over 100 years.  With minimal periodic maintenance, corrugated water tanks can provide decades of trouble free water storage.

Safety
Most of American Tank Company`s Corrugated Tanks meet Seismic Zone 4 requirements and conform to Unified Building Code (UBC) criteria.  Set on a wide contained gravel foundation, the width of the tank provides resistance to overturning without the need for expensive seismic anchors.  If anchoring is required or requested, American Tank Company will provide a foundation design and submittal drawings with a California Civil Engineers wet stamp for building permits upon receipt of purchase order.

Warranty
There is an unprecedented 10 year manufacturer`s warranty against defects in material or workmanship that cause either leakage or corrosion.

Date: January 21, 1998

American Tank Co., Inc. has been a supplier of water storage tanks throughout the United States since 1976.  Our Corrugated Galvanized Water Storage Tanks are commonly used for domestic water storage, fire protection and small private water systems.

ATC Corrugated Galvanized Steel Water Storage Tanks are structurally designed to A.I.S.C. engineering criteria.  Tanks can be engineered to meet Seismic Zone 4 design criteria of section 12 of AWWA D-103-87.  Our tank appurtenances can be specified to conform to the accessories requirements of NFPA-22 and Health Department Requirements for Small Water Systems.  Our tank sealant (Sika-Flex 201) is NSF approved for drinking water storage applications.

ATC Corrugated Galvanized Steel Potable Water Tanks are lined on the inside with Farbertite coating.

We apply NSF Approved Polyurethane to our galvanized tanks for the following reasons:

1. Adhesion -  NSF Approved Polyurethane forms a water tight, molecular bond to       galvanize without sandblasting.  Sandblasting galvanized steel would remove the factory applied zinc coating, removing a valuable Secondary defense against corrosion.
2. Application - NSF Approved Polyurethane is factory applied to all submerged surfaces in strict conformance with the coating manufacturer`s recommended procedures.  Field touch up can be easily performed without imposing health or environmental risks associated with field applied epoxy coatings.
3. Acceptance - NSF Approved Polyurethane is accepted by regulatory agencies for use in water systems including schools, hotels, restaurants, campgrounds and water districts.
