American Tank Company's open top secondary containment polyethylene (Poly) tanks are one piece molded from tough linear or cross-link polyethylene for maximum strength and durability. Tremendous chemical and corrosion resistance makes these tanks an ideal choice for secondary containment, winemaking, food processing, aquaculture and various other mixing applications. State and local regulatory agencies have enacted stringent rules and stiff penalties for spillage or leakage from storage tanks.

Install an American Tank Company polyethylene containment basin that is both acid resistant, and lightweight and that can be placed on any flat, firm, level surface for easy installation. Standard weight tanks will safely handle liquids with a specific gravity of up to 1.5, weighing up to 12.5 pounds per gallon. Special heavy-duty tanks will safely handle liquids with specific gravity up to 2.0, weighing up to16.5 pounds per gallon and are available in the 5 largest sizes at an additional charge.

The molecular structure of crosslink polyethylene makes it ideal for use with certain caustics, acids, and chemicals. Tanks made from linear natural polyethylene are molded from 100% FDA approved materials and can be used for mixing and storing food products, drinking water, etc., and will not impart any taste or residue. Natural opaqueness of linear or cross-link allows for easy viewing of liquid level. Black opaque color is available by special order and will help prevent the growth of algae in water applications.

American Tank Company's poly tanks are UV stabilized and will not breakdown under harsh outdoor weather conditions and are designed to withstand sustained temperatures of up to 120º F, and peak temperatures up to 140º F.
