I'm looking for an experienced installer of residential, above ground rainwater harvesting systems in the San Francisco East Bay. There do not appear to be many of them in this area. We get most of our rain between November and March, and the rest of the year is dry. I want to store about 2000 gallons to last from April to October for laundry. So I want a fairly small system, and I don't want to pay too much. I've talked to landscapers who say they can do it, but none of them has done it before and I know more about it than they do. I'd like to find someone with some experience in these systems. Favorable recommendations only please.

Planning these systems is key. Determining how much rainwater you can harvest vs storage and how much your garden will demand.
The last system I just installed in Bonny Doon, north of Santa Cruz is a tank I reused for the client when we installed a 10,000 gallon domestic and fire storage system. their older 2500 gallon tank drew from one roof. They are on well water with unlimited ground water resources but want to use as much rainwater as possible for gardening. They use the stored water for drip irrigation and it is supplimented with gray water.
Above ground tanks do not work well in the urban environment but there are excellent horizontal underground tank and vertical tanks that almost become a garden feature by themselves.
I'm a licensed plumbing contractor and the majority of my work is in water treatment and reuse. ca lic # 524302 phone; 831 688-7764
I am certainly available to look at your project.
