I recently purchased a 3000 gal poly tank from watertanks.com and I plan to install it next spring at ground level at my pumphouse. I have a residental well with submersible pump that supplies 5 gpm. I want 20 gpm or better (30 gpm would be nice) so as to cut down the watering time and reduce pressure losses at the house (a noticable loss of pressure at the house while watering the garden at present). I have a home and about 1/4 acre garden and will be putting in about a 1/2 acre of lawn with an underground sprinkler system in the spring. I'm thinking of using my submersible with a float switch to fill the water tank. From the water tank I'm thinking I want a pump (type & size to be determined) to supply the home, garden and lawn. I do have an existing 120 gal pressure tank in the present system. From my pumphouse I have 1" pipe supplying the house (about 60 feet away) the garden and landscaping water supply lines are 1-1/4" and may be as long a 300 feet. Recommendations? Thanks.
Martyn,in what climate zone do you live? 21,000 square feet of grass could take some water.Maybe before you put in your lawn do a yeild test on your well no less than 12 hours better 24.Upper
