Thanks. I just took a quick look. This company also got caught making a lot of miss leading statements (read as untrue) reguarding their air filters, if memory serves. A good sized law suit. They know I am out here and how to get in touch but don't do anything. One of their employees said I got screwed. I told one of their dealers that as long as this thing was on my property I was going to share my story. When I get my money back I will let it go.
I am thinking more people do a search these days on the internet than call up the BBB prior to a purchase. All in all if on a pretty good city water system their filter may work. Thanks and lets keep this on the first page so more people see it. Spencer Champion

It's funny that the BBB actually gives them a satisfactory rating. They claim over 600 employees and so the BBB takes that into consideration. I would be leary, and from what I've read here it seems that the system would work if you have pretty decent water to start with. (which I don't) but I always have doubts about any company that advertises products and don't show the indepth specs for them. It's pretty clear you have to have two things to start treatment and those are a good water analysis and everything about the product you are going to use to correct the problem.
I have a problem I sure would appreciate any help with on another post.

1) I don't like or believe in the long term performance of any whole-house water conditioner based on cartridges. For me, it's analogous to fitting your car with 100 skateboard wheels. Depending on raw water quality it will generate an unacceptable expense in cartridge replacements, high pressure drop, downtime, etc.

2) Cartridges are designed for POU duty or as auxiliary components to larger systems like a pre-filter for an RO. You "could" consider it as a polisher to a larger system. But with a price tag of $3,500.00, that's more than 3X the money for the polisher over the base system. Unacceptable.

I have been reading this forum and your posts and have come to a conclusion that I think people need to read here. Ecoquest is good company and the Springhouse is a good product. I have had excellent experiences with both. Your problem is this. You ran into a bad dealer, and its the dealer you should be bashing not the product or the company."

For example lets say you went to a Ford dealership because you wanted a vehicle to pull a large boat. You explain to the dealer what you want and he sells you a full sized van that he says can pull your boat and your family at the same time. You find that it will not pull your boat without straining the engine. Do you go running around bashing the Ford company and saying full sized vans are bad vehicles?? No, you go after the dealer and make him make it right. You could yell at Ford Co. till your blue in the face and they would be very less courteous to you than I'm sure the people at Ecoquest were. You also look a bit foolish because pretty much anyone who reads your posts can get the idea that you are at as much fault for not doing your homework before you spent the money on the Springhouse when you needed something else. If you had spent as much effort pursuing the dealer that sold you the Springhouse as you have venting your spleen at every mention of Springhouse on this forum you would have spent your time and energy much more wisely and not looked so foolish.

The fault here is with the dealer that sold you the unit and yourself for spending that much without doing your homework. You need to stop bashing Ecoquest and the Springhouse on this forum and take responsibility for your own actions.

Hey Grizz I was dealing with Ecoquest people directly after the filter did NOT do as the ECOQUEST employees said it would before the sale on the phone in my house. I continued to talk with the Ecoquest employees in trying to get the filter to do as THEY said it would. Lets see, Ecoquest makes it, Ecoquest people reviewed my water report, Ecoquest people said it would be just great and the filter I need, Ecoquest did benifit from the money I paid. The local dealer is not in my well house filtering my water.

Don't let him Badger you Spencer, you got screwed not Ecoquest and they should be lining up to help you out.

I read the BBB report and it didn't look so good to me. Anyone with that many complaints must be doing some pretty misleading advertising. It's not up to the customer to do his homework, it's up to the company making the pitch and testing the water.

Stick to your guns.

The fact that Ecoquest has helped you is simply kindness on their part, and they will typically bend over backwards to help customers with problems but they will not refund your money and they shouldn't have to, the dealer should. THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BAD DEALERS. DEALERS ARE SELF EMPLOYED CONTRACTORS.

I'm not badgering you like the above guy said. I'm just pointing out the facts that you are ignoring. It doesn't matter if I am a dealer or not. The fact remain the same. Ecoquest is not responsible to refund your money.

I have been in sales all my life and I understand how these things work. There are always going to be some bad people out there who carelessly make claims in order to sell stuff. That guy is NOT an employee of Ecoquest and you need to go after him because he is financially responsible for misleading you. Ecoquest will not ever or should they have to refund your money.

One more thing. I have communicated quite a lot with people at Ecoquest over the years and they have been unfailingly kind and helpful. If they are not responding to your requests or not returning calls I bet its because you are being unreasonable or rude to them, taking the tone of your posts into consideration.

Grizz, what I think you are missing is that Ecoquest people were on the phone with me during the sales meeting. They had been faxed my water report and were the ones saying their filter could take care of it. Makes them part of it if you ask me. Thanks for your comments and I guess I will keep on with the so called junk so other people can do their homework. Spencer

I still think you are warping the facts in your favor. Disgruntled people frequently do that so they look like the victim. I know from my experience with this company that some of the things you are saying are untrue. Something else you need to realize is that warranties are not cash refund warranties. They are replacement warranties for defects in manufacturing. Try to get a cash refund from a company that made something you got at walmart. It won't happen for the same reasons Ecoquest won't refund your money, because the dealer is responsible. Now if you had purchased it directly from them which you can't because you have to be a dealer to do that, then they would be responsible financially. Don't think I don't feel for you, I do, but what you are doing isn't helping youself and you are misrepresenting the facts, and defaming a good company, which is just the reason that you shouldn't trust everything you read online.

Grizz, the money is just that money. Not the issue. When they, being Ecoquest, indicated to me not their dealer their product would take care of my problems then with that inducement I purchased their product. Now, I just want people to know the story. The lack of return calls, or follow up on their own water testing. People should know that this system is not the cure all and I believe not a whole house system or should be used with a well. I believe I am telling the truth as it happened. I guess its the old buyer beware thing. Good luck. Spencer

Hello spencer6497
I admire you and you principals. You seem to be a true "stand up man". I thank you for your information. I look for your posts every time I come to this site.
*** To be sure just because the BBB says you are great does not mean that ANY of your customers are happy with your product.

Grizz, are you related to Ecoquest in any other way than what you have stated?
