Can't find what you are looking for when it comes to Rotational Molding, Rotomolding Machines, or just general information about the custom Rotomold process? Plastic-Mart can design, build, and manufacture your Custom Rotationally Molded products to your exact specifications. Using our own in-house Rotational Molding Equipment, we can mold most any product that can be made from plastic. From the design and manufacture of your own Custom Roto Molds to Rotational molding your finished parts, we can help you from start to finish. With over 35 years in the Rotational Molding business, our experts will guide you through the entire process from A to Z, or we can assist you at any point of your current design and production needs.
Most if not all of the products we sell as well as all of the custom items we manufacture, are produced using the Plastic Rotational Molding ( also known as Rotomolding or Rotational Casting ) process. This technology produces both large and small plastic products that are better in quality, and are faster and cheaper to produce than other methods like plastic injection molding or blow molding. Depending on the size and complexity of your custom Rotomolded product, we match each specific job with just the right size Rotational Molding Machine for maximum efficiency. This helps to reduce molding costs and keep the piece price of your custom molded product as low as possible. If we do not have the optimum sized Rotomolding machine for your project, we work with manufacturers all over the country who do. Bottom line…we have access to the right machine for your custom roto mold job!
Design
Our in-house engineers can help you design the product you need, either by designing from your specs or by helping you determine the correct specifications. All are experts in the field, and have years of knowledge on AutoCad and similar design programs. We can finalize and process your plans so that they can be forwarded to the machinists for cast tooling.
Casting
Once your design is finalized, the plans are forwarded to a machinist who tools a cast to the exact measurements of your design. It is this cast that will be used to form your completed product. Care is taken to ensure a seamless, tightly fitting cast to produce the best and strongest product possible.
Production
Your cast is then sent to the plastic manufacturer to fill your product order. The cast is filled with a granular plastic resin. It is clamped and placed inside a large oven that rotates the cast in all direction, ensuring a smooth and even coating of the cast surface with the melting resin.
You can choose from a variety of colors and, depending on the product usage, a variety of plastic grades. You can even permanently stamp your logo and company info right into the final product!
With roto-molding, smaller production runs are more economical that with other methods because of the lower start-up costs of cast tooling, etc. Larger runs are cheaper in the long run too. Because the roto-molding casts tend to be only two pieces, they last longer than other complex, multi-piece casts. This means less cast maintenance and/or replacement during mass production runs.
Distribution
If you are planning to mass-market your product, we may be able to help you there too, either by consulting with you about distribution systems, or in some cases by selling your product on Plastic-Mart.com!
