American Tank Company’s rectangular closed top tanks are
designed for the safe, reliable storage and transport of potable water, gray
water, agricultural products, industrial chemicals and much more. Available in a
wide variety of shapes and sizes, we offer the most extensive line of these hard
to find polyethylene receptacles.
Rotomolded to be seamless, one-piece, watertight vessels, our closed top tanks
will not leak, chip, rust or corrode. All of them are manufactured to meet FDA
requirements for food and water collection. These tanks are not, however,
designed for fuel storage.
In order to ensure the tank you get fits your needs we recommend the following:
Carefully
measure the area where you plan to install your tank. Since these tanks are
rectangular, keep in mind they may be used in any position, though if placed up on edge, they will need bracing and supporting. Accordingly,
don’t worry about the specifics (length, width and height) – just take
three measurements to the closest 1/8th inch. Plan for additional
space when fittings and/or fill lids are required.
If
relevant, confirm the tank size you have determined will provide adequate
capacity in terms of gallons. Use of our Tank Capacity Calculator will make this task quick and easy. At American Tank Company we have
rectangular closed top tanks that range from 3 gallons to 260 gallons;
Consider
what you will be storing in the tank. Polyethylene tanks are designed to
safely contain virtually anything but fuel. However, there are exceptions to
every rule. If you will be storing an obscure industrial or agricultural
chemical please confirm the tank’s compatibility with an American Tank
Company expert. If polyethylene is not appropriate for your situation, these
talented individuals can provide a recommendation for your particular need;
Remember
that our closed tops tanks are exactly that – closed top. This means there
are no predetermined access holes. If you want to fill and empty the tank,
which we assume you do, you will want to select fittings and accessories
that are appropriate for your project. To see our entire selection of tank
fittings, caps and lids, check out our Accessories page.
Once
you have selected the fittings that are necessary to complete your project,
fill out a Rectangular Tank Order Form. Your Sales Representative will provide you with the form you need. Please note a minimum of two coordinates for each
fitting, which will allow us to determine precisely where you want the
center of the fittings to lay. Also remember to indicate what size fittings
you require.
In addition, please do keep in mind that all American Tank
Company rectangular closed top tanks are normally supplied in natural white.
Black is available if specifically requested. American Tank Company supports the
manufacturer’s 1-year limited warranty, dependent on the chemical
compatibility of the tank’s intended content with the tank and tank fitting
materials. Order online or call American Tank Company today at 877-655-1100 to
order your rectangular closed top tank.
Due to the nature of the rotational molding process, dimensions may vary from what is published and shown on the referenced drawings.
During the delivery process, tanks can pass between several docks and trucks on their way from the factory to the customer. Though not a guarantee, tank wrap “helps” to protect the tanks from getting scuffed and dirty. The best way to avoid cosmetic damage is to set up a will call at the factory and personally handle the tanks yourself.
