 American Tank Company’s drainable leg tanks are used for a wide variety of applications including the storage and/or transport of potable water, gray water, wine, most liquid agricultural chemicals, and a wide range of industrial chemicals.
American Tank Company’s drainable polyethylene (poly) leg tanks are manufactured by means of the rotational molding process, which produces a one-piece, seamless, watertight tank. Linear poly tanks are molded from 100% FDA approved materials and are therefore safe for storage of food products and will not impart any taste or residue.
American Tank Company’s drainable poly leg tanks are UV stabilized and will not breakdown under harsh outdoor weather conditions. Standard weight tanks (Natural Color) will safely handle liquids with a specific gravity up to 1.5, weighing up to 12.5 Lbs. per gallon. Heavy-duty tanks (Blue Color) will safely handle liquids with a specific gravity up to 2.0, weighing up to 16.5 Lbs. per gallon. These tanks are designed for sustained temperatures up to 120º F, and peak temperatures up to 140º F.
These tanks are designed for complete drainage by directing flow to a center outlet drain. Drainable leg tanks have molded-in legs to help reduce sloshing and allow for easy securing of the tank to the truck. All bands are custom fabricated to support the tanks and are galvanized for added corrosion protection.
Whether using the tank in a stationary position or for transport, full-length bottom support and the appropriate band assembly are requirements for warranty protection and to ensure that the tank retains its shape and integrity.
American Tank Company supports the manufacturer’s 3-year warranty dependent on the chemical compatibility of the intended contents with the tank, tank fitting, and fitting gasket materials. These tanks are not Department of Transportation (DOT) rated.
Due to the nature of the rotational molding process, dimensions may vary from what is published and shown on the referenced drawings.
During the delivery process, tanks can pass between several docks and trucks on their way from the factory to the customer. Though not a guarantee, tank wrap “helps” to protect the tanks from getting scuffed and dirty. The best way to avoid cosmetic damage is to set up a will call at the factory and personally handle the tanks yourself.
