American Tank Company’s horizontal leg tanks are used for a wide variety of applications including the storage and/or transport of potable water, gray water, wine, most liquid agricultural chemicals, and many industrial chemicals.
American Tank Company’s horizontal leg tanks are manufactured by means of the rotational molding process using rugged, high-density linear or crosslink polyethylene (poly) which produces a one-piece, seamless, watertight tank that is both impact and chemical resistant. These tanks also accommodate highly viscous solutions with a specific gravity as high as 2.0, weighing up to 16.5 Lbs. per gallon. If your application deals with certain caustics, acids, and chemicals, the molecular structure of crosslink polyethylene makes it an ideal solution.
Linear polyethylene tanks are molded from 100% FDA approved materials and are therefore excellent for safe storage of food products because polyethylene will not impart any taste or residue. The natural opaqueness of linear or crosslink poly allows for the easy viewing of your liquid level.
American Tank Company’s horizontal poly leg tanks are UV stabilized and will not breakdown under harsh outdoor weather conditions. These tanks are designed to withstand temperatures up to 120º F, and peak temperatures up to 140º F. Horizontal leg tanks have molded-in legs to help reduce sloshing and allow for easy securing of the tank to your truck.
Due to the wide range of applications and for added flexibility, tank fittings for American Tank Company’s linear and crosslink horizontal poly leg tanks must be ordered separately by specifying the size and location of the fittings according to your system design.
To insure the highest quality, these horizontal poly leg tanks have been manufactured according to ASTM D1998-93 standards. Whether using the tank in a stationary position or for transport, full-bottom support and the appropriate bands are required to validate the warranty and to ensure that the tank retains its shape and integrity.
American Tank Company supports the manufacturer’s 3-year warranty dependent on the chemical compatibility of the intended contents with the tank, tank fittings, and fitting gasket materials.

Due to the nature of the rotational molding process, dimensions may vary from what is published and shown on the referenced drawings.
During the delivery process, tanks can pass between several docks and trucks on their way from the factory to the customer. Though not a guarantee, tank wrap “helps” to protect the tanks from getting scuffed and dirty. The best way to avoid cosmetic damage is to set up a will call at the factory and personally handle the tanks yourself.
